2nd SUSTech programming competition a huge success
On December 22, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) held the finals of its 2nd programming competition, with 60 SUSTech undergraduates, 3 programming contestants from Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) and 25 middle school Informatics Olympiad students from across Shenzhen.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) worked with Teaching Affairs Office and Admissions Office. Tencent and Pony.ai sponsored this competition, whose rules are consistent with the International Collegiate Programming Competition (ICPC).
After four hours competition, 8 first prizes, 16 second prizes, and 24 third prizes were cast out. SUSTech undergraduate Pan Shuyu won the championship. Teaching Affairs Office Director Huang Kefu, Admissions Office Director Tan Jianwei, CSE Deputy Director of Teaching Hao Qi and CSE Professor Liu Jiang attended the awards ceremony.
Teaching Affairs Office Director Huang Kefu congratulated the students for competing in the contest, pointing out that SUSTech will always actively support professional competitions that promote skills among its undergraduate student population. He encouraged students to practice their skills to contribute to the future needs of the country.
CSE focuses on promoting learning through competition and practical applications. Freshmen undergraduate courses are professional in their focus, with subjects such as “Basics of Computer Programming” and “Data Structure and Algorithm Analysis.” The curriculum is designed to cultivate elite innovative talents for the new era.
