On May 26th 2017, the event “CCF in University” hosted by China Computer Federation (CCF) and undertaken by the Department of CSE, SUSTech kicked off smoothly. During the event, CCF’s Professors who are active in research, education, management, and career planning or other fields, will interact with university students, aiming at helping students to improve professional skills, and guiding them to plan for life and career. The department has invited three committee members from CCF’s Computer Service Specialty Committee as the guest speaker– Professor Li Bing from International Software Institute, WHU(Wuhan University); Professor Wang Hongbing from the College of Computer Science and Technology, SEU(Southeast University); Professor Wang Shangguang from State Key Laboratory of Networking and Switching Technology, BUPT(Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications). The Assistant Professor Zhang Yuqun from the Department of CSE, SUSTech hosted this event.

Professor Li Bing addressed the speech “ Innovative Thinking in ABC Era”, he introduced the new connotations and features of innovative thinking at the age of artificial intelligence, big data and cloud computing. Then he went on discussing how the cultivation of innovative thinking may adjust to information technology development. His humorous speech was widely complemented by present teachers and students. Prof. Wang Hongbing briefly introduced the knowledge of basic concept of Service Computing Technology, developing history and etc, as well as his own research and study in fields of Service Computing. He recommended the most valuable research direction to the present students, which leaves a deep impression on them. Prof. Wang Shangguang briefly stated the basic concept of Mobile Edge Computing, its application occasions and platform. He shared the experiences of “being a good person, doing right things, and being oneself” during the university life. The sincere and touching words did not only let students feel the devotion of Prof. Wang, but also brought positive effect to students’ future development and arrangements for university.

During the latter Q&A section, the attending students and teachers raised questions actively; three Professors carefully answered each question, and conducted a heated discussion. This “CCF In University” activity, broaden the academic views of SUSTech staff and students, enhancing the professional skills, received active complement from audiences.
