The basic duration of study for full-time general doctoral students is 3 to 4 academic years (regular duration: 4 academic years), and the maximum duration of study is 6 academic years.
The basic duration of study for full-time direct doctoral students is 4 to 5 academic years (regular duration: 5 academic years), and the maximum duration of study is 7 academic years.
The basic duration of study for full-time master-doctoral consecutive students (including the master’s stage) is 5 to 6 academic years, and the maximum duration of study is 7 academic years.
This discipline covers major secondary disciplinary directions including Theoretical Computer Science, Computer Architecture, Computer Software, Computer Networks and Security, Artificial Intelligence, and Computer Applied Technology.
This discipline is committed to serving national strategies and the development needs of the "Double Zones". Focusing on key core technologies and frontier common issues in the modern information industry, it cultivates urgently needed talents in computer science and technology related fields. The basic educational objectives are as follows:
Master the guiding ideology of Marxism, uphold the common ideal of socialism with Chinese characteristics, actively practice core socialist values, consciously promote the Chinese spirit, and possess good scientific, cultural and moral qualities;
Master solid and broad basic theories in theoretical computer science, computer architecture, computer software, computer networks and security, artificial intelligence, computer applied technology, etc., acquire systematic and in-depth specialized knowledge in at least one of the above fields, have a thorough understanding of the current status, trends and research frontiers of the discipline, and have a good command of a foreign language;
Possess a rigorous and realistic scientific attitude and work style, have a thorough understanding of important theories, methods and technologies in relevant fields of the discipline, be good at identifying frontier issues in the discipline, and be capable of conducting in-depth research and exploration on them;
Be able to use the theories, methods, technologies and tools of computer science and technology to carry out high-level basic research and applied basic research in relevant fields, conduct theoretical and technological innovation, or engage in the design, development, operation and management of large and complex systems, produce creative achievements, and have the ability to independently conduct scientific research in this discipline and related fields.
