The “2017 China Financial Technology Maker Competition (Hangzhou) Finals” hosted by the Zhejiang Provincial Financial Office, the China Banking Association, the Hangzhou Municipal People's Government, and the Zhejiang University, and the Hangzhou Financial Office, has been held on March 25, 2018. Professor Yao Xin, Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Southern University of Science and Technology, participated in and reviewed the competition as the chairman of the finals technical jury.

According to the organizer, the competition is the first high-profile innovation and entrepreneurship competition in the financial industry that focuses on cutting-edge technologies such as big data, block chain, VR/AR and artificial intelligence. There are nearly 100 financial and technical companies participating in this competition. The top experts in the investment category joined the judges and hundreds of projects signed up. At the event, a total of 27 teams entered the finals and had a wonderful interaction with 15 judges and nearly 100 jury members from banks, insurance, securities, investment and other financial institutions.
