Good news: CSE Chair Professor, Hisao Ishibuchi, was successfully selected for the “Thousand Talents Program”

Recently, the Central Organization Department announced the list of the 14th batch of national “Thousand Talents Plan” in 2017. Professor Hisao Ishibuchi from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Southern University of Science and Technology was successfully selected as a long-term project for the “Thousand Talents Program”. 

Professor Hisao Ishibuchi officially joined the department of CSE of SUSTech in April 2017. He has received good news from the long-term project of the “Thousand Talents Program” for less than one year. He is the third full-time "thousand people" in the CSE department.

Hisao Ishibuchi(http://cse.sustech.edu.cn/cn/people/view/people_id/55/sort_id/9/pid/) is a Chair Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, IEEE Fellow, and now IEEE Computational Intelligence Editor-in-Chief of Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation, Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics and IEEE Access, former Vice President of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (2010-2013), and received JSPS Award in 2007. His research areas focus on: computational intelligence, evolutionary multi-objective optimization, evolutionary machine learning, etc. 

The Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Computational Intelligence, where Professor Hisao Ishibuchi is located, has three IEEE Fellows (Hisao Ishibuchi, Shi Yuhui, Yao Xin) and an IEEE CIS Outstanding Early Career Award winner and the Royal Society Newton Advanced Fellowship (Ke Tang). In 2017, the lab published nine articles in the Journal of Artificial Intelligence with an impact factor of more than 10. According to Google's academic statistics, the three IEEE Fellows papers have a total citation of more than 100,000.
