With the fast development of computer technology and modernization of business, talents who are proficient in computer technology are of high demand. The high-quality, inter-disciplinary, and innovative talents will be of much higher demand now and in the future, because of the intense, innovative, and permeable nature of computer technology, as well as the fierce market competition and technology innovation. Under this background, Southern University of Science and Technology set up the Department of Computer Science and Engineering aiming to educate students to be high-quality innovative talents.

Our Department focuses on six research areas including artificial intelligence, data science, computer system and networking, computational theory, computer security, and software engineering and programming languages. The Department has an international high-quality faculty team aiming to conduct state-of-the-art scientific research, to support the cutting edge technology innovation, and to cultivate professionals with comprehensive quality and skills. We have collaborated with many renowned universities home and abroad, including the University of Birmingham, National University of Singapore, University of Technology Sydney, etc., on the postgraduate training and scientific research.

Within the last eight years, the Department has attracted a team of talented academics from around the world. It is riding on the current wave of technology development and engaging in cutting edge research. We are very grateful to all those who have supported us in various ways.
